About:

Glen Cove Grille is located in the picturesque hillside of the Glen Cove Community in Vallejo, CA. Our quaint dining room sits in the corner of a historic lighthouse building that was moved by barge from Mare Island to its current location in the 1950’s. Our dining room seats approximately 35 guests and patrons are welcome to grab a drink and enjoy the waterfront view from one of our Adirondack chairs or our front deck, where we have additional seating. Inside, you will find a dining room tastefully decorated with art from local artists, which is topped off by a mural painted of the Carquinez Strait. We also have two HDTV’s and the sports package, which makes it a great spot to catch the game and grab a beer.

The team at Glen Cove Grille works hard to create big flavors from a small kitchen. We are confident that you will be impressed by the quality of our food, but more than that, you’ll be amazed that all our dishes are produced in a kitchen that measures approximately 100” X 36” and utilizes only one burner and a countertop stove! Because of our size limitations, Glen Cove Grille’s menu focuses on executing a handful of dishes correctly. This allows our menus to be seasonally driven while at the same time leveraging our space to provide a memorable dining experience.

We serve coffee roasted by Vallejo’s own Fabrice Moschetti. Fabrice sources and perfects his own beans and we are fortunate enough to be able to brew them oftentimes within 72 hours of roasting!

Staff bios:

Jay Rooke, Proprietor

A native New Englander, Jay used to work as an attorney for the City of New York. Upon realizing that he structured his law school classes around Food Network programming, Jay left the law and attended culinary school in New York City. He then taught at as a chef instructor at a culinary school, where he also served as the Executive Chef of the school’s restaurant. Jay later worked for a boutique Italian wine importer, where he cultivated a palate for well-made wines. This experience is reflected in the wine list at Glen Cove Grille, which mainly features selections from Italy and Northern California. “Having come from a town similar to Vallejo out east, I’m very much aware of the positive potential impact that a pleasurable gathering spot can have on the community. My team and I look forward to providing a venue where both visitors and locals can be comforted by good food and drink, and even better company.”

Reservations policy: Unfortunately, because of our limited seating capacity, we are only able to take reservations for parties of six or larger. Please do not leave reservation requests on voicemail. In order to accommodate our guests, reservations will only be held for 15 minutes after the reserved time.
